It all began when I was 16. I attended a business training at a publishing house in Cologne intending to become a sports journalist. At that time I spent every weekend on a different football pitch, following the matches to write short articles on what I saw. Part of my business training was also a three month program in the advertising department where I had to oversee client ads for our magazines. Coincidentally, I was asked to develop an ads campaign about our magazines reach, circulation, readership tangential to various media agencies. Surprisingly the Head of Advertising at Deutscher Sport Verlag, Mr. Heinz Hünnekens, liked my writing. In a substantial conversation, he gave me some advice: “Don’t work as a journalist. Your writing skills will be much better used in advertising. You should become copy-writer in an agency.“ I had never thought about that, before I didn’t have a clue about the world of agencies. I never forgot his advice. One year later I started as junior copy-writer at RSCG, Butter, Rang in Düsseldorf. This site is dedicated to Heinz Hünnekens, the man who first inspired me had the idea.
